This classic game of French skipping is a great activity to encourage your child to get active. The game is typically played by three or more players using this stretchy loop of elastic. Two players face each other about 1.5 metres apart and position the string around their ankles so that it is taut. A third player stands between the two sides of the rope and accomplishes a series of increasingly difficult moves. If they do so without making an error, the position of the string is moved upwards, from ankle and in graduations to shoulder height.
If the jumper makes a mistake, players rotate their positions and the next player becomes the jumper. Once the player is finished, that person switches with one of the other people, and so on, until everyone has been able to play.
